There are many ways to raise funds for SAYes, regardless of where you are in the world. Every rand or pound raised goes towards recruiting, training and supporting the volunteer mentors who walk alongside a young person for a year.
Ideas that work
- Hold an event at your local church, school or sports club
- Run a pub quiz, games night or bake sale
- Invite people to your home for a coffee morning or supper club
- Take on a run, ride, swim or hike and ask friends to sponsor you
- Ask your employer about matched giving or a charity of the year nomination
- Mark a birthday or wedding by asking for donations instead of gifts
What your fundraising pays for
R10,000 funds one mentor–mentee match for one full year, covering recruitment, screening, a full day of mentor training, monthly workshops, support from our social worker and graduation. Smaller amounts pay for workshop materials, travel costs for mentees and refreshments at match days.
